SMITTEN BY THE STREET GIRL - CHP 15

The cold breeze penetrated through the small window as Hayley checked her phone for any other messages from Andrew. There were none. Did she mean it about getting out of Adrian's house? She had a decision to make. Live with a man who despised her a lot, or pack her things and go to her first love. It would be easier that way than staying with a cold man who would go to an extent of locking her up. The time read five minutes to seven pm. Her siblings would not eat dinner without their sister. They would go hungry because of that bastard of a man. Lying down on the cold floor, she hoped she would get some sleep.

Suddenly the lock on the door made a sound. Someone was here to rescue her finally.

"Hayley," Russell called as he opened the door.

Getting up from the cold floor, she rushed to him and gave him a tight hug. "Thank you Russell," She whispered.

"The boss ordered to get you out. What did you do?" Russell asked leading her out of the cell.

"I don't want to talk about it Russell, okay? I just need to get some rest," She said tapping his shoulders .

He nodded not wanting to pressure her, "okay,"

Luckily, Maria had been there to take care of her siblings. They had eaten and gone to sleep already. Maria had known Hayley would get into trouble and had convinced her siblings that she had gone to take some few things at the mall.

"Thank you nanny," Hayley said after taking her last sip of the hot coffee. She was still cold.

"Anytime dear. Next time be careful,"

"Of course," She replied. There wouldn't be a next time. She thought as she put her cup down. Because she would be leaving that house first thing in the morning.

"What is that food for anyway?" Hayley asked nanny who was busy putting different kinds of delicious food in bowls.

"Adrian's mother and sister will be coming for dinner. I'm sure they are almost here," nanny said. She remembered Adrian had mentioned it at the basement. "You should meet Adrian's sister Alexandra. She is really a nice girl,"

"Oh. What about his mum?" Hayley asked.

"She is also a nice beautiful woman with a kind heart," Nanny replied placing the food on the dining table.

Suddenly someone knocked on the door and Adrian was down already to open it. It must be his mother and sister. Hayley thought. In came a beautiful woman who she assumed of course was his mother, followed by a gorgeous young lady her long black hair almost touching her butt. She was dressed in beautiful short strapless blue dress and black heels.

"Adrian! I missed you!" His mother shouted in a happy tone embracing her son in a tight hug.

"I really missed you too mother," Adrian replied giving her a soft kiss on her forehead.

"Rian!" His sister called with a big smile on her face.

"Hey little sis. How have you been? How is school? Oh, we have so much to catch up on,"

"Of course bro. I hope you will be taking the day off tomorrow. We sure do have a lot to talk about," His sister replied.

Nodding, he led them to the dining table, "C'mon.. Nanny has prepared some delicacies for you," Adrian said.

"So, where is Maria? I have missed her too a lot?" Adrian's mother asked as she took her seat.

"She should be here in a moment," Adrian said taking his seat. "

Maria followed by Hayley behind, carried the rest of the food and juice to the table.

"Oh, Maria!" Adrian's mother stood and embraced her.

"Hello Mrs Grey,"

"Been quite a long time. Oh, and who is the beautiful girl?" Adrian's mother asked diverting her attention to Hayley.

"She is our new help. Her name is Hayley," Maria replied.

"Nice to meet you Hayley. You know what? Why don't you both join us?" Adrian's mother said.

"Maybe nanny can join us. Hayley has some work to finish," Adrian chipped in.

𝑜𝑓𝑐𝑜𝑢𝑟𝑠𝑒! 𝑁𝑜𝑡 𝑎 𝑠𝑢𝑟𝑝𝑟𝑖𝑠𝑒 𝑎𝑛𝑦𝑤𝑎𝑦𝑠!

Hayley thought as she excused herself before Mrs Grey spoke up.

"No dear! C'mon! I'm sure you haven't taken your dinner yet! It's not right for you to go sit down alone! Just come and take a seat,"

"I'm okay madam,"

"No! No! I do not take No for an answer! Come seat here," Mrs Grey said directing her to a seat that was beside Adrian's.

"Okay," Hayley replied taking her seat to avoid any more drama.

She couldn't help but wonder how Adrian's mother had such a nice heart while his was rotten. Engrossed in their conversation, she could tell his sister was a darling too. Hayley had been lost in their conversation when she realised she had barely touched her food. Adrian and his sister were busy bickering while Nanny and Mrs Grey were in a deep conversation. She had never seen Adrian laugh like that as he conversed with his little sister. His laugh was contagious. She found herself smiling when his eyes suddenly met hers and he frowned. Did this man hate her that much! She needed to go pack her things immediately. Mrs Grey would not notice that she had exited the table since her and nanny were so busy in their talk.

Rushing to her room, she began packing her bags before heading to her siblings room to pack theirs. But then someone knocked on her door. Who could it be this time! Hayley wondered clicking her tongue.

"I'm coming!" She shouted to the person as she hid her packed bag under the bed.

"Hey!" Alexandra greeted her as she opened the door.

What was she doing here?

"Hey! Uh..what..,"

"Okay! I know this seems awkward, we don't know each other and staff but Adrian told me you're a nice person and...,"

Hayley gasped.
"What? Adrian told you to come talk to me?"

"Uh..yes.. I'm Alex," She said stretching her hand to Hayley as she greeted her back. "Can you let me in?" Alex asked.

She had to finish packing those bags before going to bed. And now Adrian's sister as nice as she was, was there standing on her door! Maybe it was a sign! Maybe she was making a bad decision by leaving!

"Uh..Hello?" Alex startled her. She had been lost in thoughts.

"What?I'm sorry but I'm a bit tired right now! I badly want to get some rest. Maybe we can talk tomorrow?"

"Okay. That's fine with me," Alex replied taking her cue to leave.

Closing her bedroom door, She had made a final decision.

"Hayley, where are we going?" Her younger sister asked with a frown on her face.

"I will tell you on the way hunny,"

She had talked to Russell who would be helping her escape because she knew she wouldn't succeed alone. He had hesitated at first but he had finally agreed. She felt guilty for getting him into trouble. The bags were already packed and all she had to do was take her siblings to the car.

She knew they would understand. They had been through much more than this. Andrew would provide them with whatever they needed. Adrian's mansion had been very comfortable to them. Her too. She couldn't deny the fact. For the few weeks they had been here, she had almost forgotten about her past. At one point, she had almost believed that Adrian was a good person. That he was just hiding behind his mask. But she had been wrong!

Taking a deep breath, she closed her siblings bedroom door and led them to the car that was waiting for them outside. Luckily, it was still very early in the morning and everyone were asleep except for the guards. Russell would handle them. She had already taken all the bags inside the car.

Looking at the beautiful mansion one more time, she sighed and got inside the car.

"Russell, let's leave,"
